Lockheed Martin Engineering Challenge 2019
Eight teams of students from schools in the Fairford area teamed up with engineering firms to compete in a unique challenge at the Royal International Air Tattoo on July 20th.The engineering challenge sponsored by Lockheed Martin asked the engineers of the future to design and build an aerodynamic vehicle that, after travelling along a track would remotely trigger a catapult.The winning team from Marling School managed to fire their projectile over 10m and were each awarded an F35 Lightening II fighter jet model.All students who attended the final also received a Bronze CREST Award to reward them for their STEM project work.
