Curiosity Connections
Curiosity Connections is a network for inspirational primary STEM education in the Bristol region.On Saturday 2nd February, Curiosity Connections held their annual conference at the Bristol Business School, UWE. STEMworks were there to represent CREST Awards and promote STEM project work.The day began with an enlightening keynote presentation from Louise Stubberfield, leader of the Primary Science Campaign at the Wellcome Trust. Data gathered from the Trust raised concerns that little Science is being delivered in primary school classrooms. Louise introduced Explorify, a free online teaching resource.Delegates attended a variety of workshops covering Expanding Science Capital, Science through Literacy and Numeracy and Building Confidence in Classroom Science Communication.Representatives from Medical Mavericks, Science Made Simple, Practical Action and Kids against Plastic also showcased their activities that are available to schools.The day closed with an enthusiastic presentation from Matthew Tosh.
